To be fair insurance sales people usually don’t receive a set salary because they’re obviously selling insurance policies to receive a commission. However, according to Yahoo, searches for various career salaries didn’t show much of any interest in the insurance sales field.
According to Yahoo the five most popular salary searches were for Pharmacy Technicians, Medical Assistants, Architects, Registered Nurses and Dental Hygienists. It’s interesting to me that three of the top five searches were for jobs that can be pursued at a career college.![]()
It seems to me, with the proliferation of career colleges and advertisements in my area that there is a growing demand for a shorter path towards a steady career. Have you noticed this trend where you live?
More than half of the searches were within the health services area including Chiropractors, Radiologists, Pediatricians and Nutritionists. Those are jobs that are going to take quite a bit longer to reach.
As far as how much an insurance sales person makes it's going to vary widely. Most people struggle to make a full time income while some make six figures every year and build long-term residual incomes. You've got to love to talk to people, convince people, be very persistent and not be afraid of a lot of rejection.

The traits listed here to lead to success in the insurance sales industry strike me as similar to those required to see success in a whole lot of other professions, as well! People who are persistent and not afraid of rejection, in particular, will likely see pretty fine results no matter what they choose for a career. Great points.
