Apparently there is at least one very bad driver in the National Football League (NFL). According to an article in The Journal News a player for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers doesn't appear to have very good vision:
"When Tampa Bay offensive-line backup Donald Penn borrowed defensive end Greg Spires' Porsche SUV and promptly drove it into
Amy Lucas' 12-year-old Oldsmobile parked harmlessly in her driveway, Spires simply shrugged it off as an accident.
Apparently, it is a big deal to Ms. Lucas. Even though Spires has insurance, she's not going to be reimbursed for the whole value of the car.
'I'll never get the money I put into that vehicle," Lucas said. "We used to put it in car shows. Now it looks pitiful.'"
Why is Lucas not going to receive the full value? I would be none to happy if that happened to me. Sounds to me like Penn needs to do a little fund drive for Lucas's lack of reimbursement. Somehow I don't think Spires is going to trust Penn with his vehicle in the near future.
By the way, how does one hit a parked car in a driveway unless they're drunk?

Well, drunk, or just a clueless and very bad driver. Not to say that there are idiots in the NFL, but... well, OK, there are some idiots in the NFL. (Note: there are also some brilliant and tremendous players, as well). I can't understand how this individual's insurance will not cover the accident victim. Could this lead to questions about pro athlete's receiving preferential treatment, I wonder?
