According to an article on Tallahassee.com and information from the Commonwealth Fund “38 percent of college graduates go through some uninsured period in their first year after graduation.” This could be either because they’re too old for their parents policy or didn’t think about getting some insurance
Short-term health insurance is an option for the uninsured and with a higher deductible the monthly premiums can be manageable. This entire situation begs the question of how the recent graduates are going to pay for the coverage if they don’t have a job yet. But I guess that’s something to discuss with their parents.
