Ohio Governor Ted Strickland Refuses State Health Benefits Because So Many Uninsured
I thought this was a powerful statement made by a privileged and wealthy person.  Ohio Governor Ted Strickland has decided to forgo the state health benefits package in light of so many Ohio residents that have no health insurance coverage according to Ohio.com.  Instead he’ll pay for his family’s coverage out of pocket by reimbursing the state.

Apparently Strickland did the same thing before while he was in Congress in 1992.  He paid “for his own insurance coverage while representing a rural southeast Ohio district that included parts of Appalachia.”

Strickland certainly is making all other elected officials look bad as “No other statewide officeholders or members of the state Legislature reimburse the state for the cost of their health insurance, according the Department of Administrative Services.”

Any other Ohio or other state politicians ready to pay for their own health insurance coverage?

Wow! I would almost consider moving to Ohio just to vote for this man.
Here, apparently, is someone who puts his actions forward and lets them speak for his convictions, and I applaud his willingness to cover his own health insurance when so many are unable to afford it themselves. This guy can lead.
