Have you ever filed a claim with your cell phone insurance provider? I have and I was none to happy about the $35 deductible I had to pay. I can only guess that cell phone insurers are receiving a lot of claims to warrant such a high deductible in addition to my $5 a month premium.
I came across an informative and also entertaining YouTube video asking the question “Should you insure your cellphone?” They make some good points about the deductible and that you don’t have to purchase a policy through your wireless company. I actually had a hard time locating a cell phone insurance provider online. If anyone has been successful at finding a good deal outside of your provider then let us know.

It might just be me (heavens, I HOPE it isn't), but mobile phone insurance makes more and more sense to me, the more phones I end up inadvertently destroying. I have left my phone atop a car (gone), put one through the wash (done), dropped and broken two of them (ouch - although one was a rather impressive fall, and it sort of worked for a while thereafter)... I think the cost of replacement is doing some rather convincing marketing for the idea of insurance in this case!
Or, as Mom would say, maybe I just need to learn to be more careful?
