According to a press release on J.D. Power & Associates website “more than 40 percent of consumers would like their homeowners insurance carrier to offer coverage for identity theft.” This revelation is from the sixth annual J.D. Power and Associates 2006 Homeowners Insurance Study. Not too surprisingly identity theft came in second to auto insurance for most desired product from their homeowners insurance provider.
More than 25 percent of homeowners believe they are underinsured while “a large proportion of homeowners do not carry enough insurance to rebuild their homes if destroyed.” In light of the past few years of Mother Nature wreaking havoc on our coastlines I am surprised more people do not have sufficient insurance coverage for their homes.
