Which TV Dads Needs More Life Insurance?
A recent study was commissioned by the nonprofit Life and Health Insurance Foundation for Education (LIFE) about which television dads needed the greatest amount of life insurance coverage according to a press release on the LIFE website.

The survey asked 1,019 adult Americans to choose from TV dads Mike Brady, Cliff Huxtable, Homer Simpson, Ray Barone and Tony Soprano as to who needs the most life insurance.  The following is how the respondents answered:

Tony Soprano (The Sopranos):  25%
Homer Simpson (The Simpsons):  17%
Cliff Huxtable (The Cosby Show):  12%
Ray Barone (Everybody Loves Raymond):  12%
Mike Brady (The Brady Bunch):  10%
None of the above/Don’t know.  23%

The press release goes on to explain why some of the characters would need life insurance.  This study shows most people associate life insurance with the risk of someone dying versus the responsibilities the potential insured has.

Every single dad on the list has a wife, more than one young child and a mortgage.  All of the fathers not only need life insurance but also need a significant amount.  In addition all of the wives except one do not work and therefore bring in no income to help if the husband dies.

The more important question is do these TV dads need life insurance and why?  If a person has financial responsibilities such as children, a significant other, family members, debt or any other responsibilities then life insurance is an absolute must.
