I found a similar personal finance spotlight article on dallasnews.com of a couple in their early 30’s planning to have a child and have the mom quit her job to be a full-time mom with the husband being the sole breadwinner. Three financial professionals and one tax expert weigh in on the families scenario and important considerations for their finances, insurance, debt and emergency and college savings.
My question is how these couples are found? The couples used in these articles are usually middle to upper middle class, in my experience more than likely upper middle class. These families are not the typical American family in terms of income, savings habits and debt ratio.
Has anyone ever been contacted for articles like this or seen opportunities to be part of a personal financial makeover. Most people are reluctant to sit down with a financial planner or advisor for many reasons let alone be featured in an online or offline article.
