Rockford Ill. Flooding Brings Up Insurance Confusion
This week Illinois insurance experts met with Rockford, Ill. neighbors to answer questions related to their policy coverage according to wrex.com.  The meeting was held at the Human Services Department with “a team from the state’s insurance division offering free advice to residents.”

As is usual when it comes to insurance there was some confusion by residents as to what the protocol is for filing a claim and what policy coverage they have.  Residents seem to fall into three different categories:

Those with flood insurance who simply need to know which claim to file; those with homeowners insurance that may not cover all types of damage (those residents are primarily asking what is covered under their policy); and those with no insurance at all who may still have some options as they look to rebuild.

As can happen residents are not feeling well taken care of or treated fairly by the insurance companies.  If you were unable to attend the meeting you can contact the Illinois Insurance Division through their website www.idfpr.com.
