Ex Denver Broncos Star Terrell Davis Sues Liberty Mutual Fire Insurance Co.
I remember Terrell Davis well.  Davis was one of the most amazing running backs in the nineties and arguably of all time.  He was a bruiser with speed, agility and an eye for finding the creases in a defense and his way to the end zone.

Unfortunately he is now suing Liberty Mutual Fire Insurance Co. for breach of contract almost a year after an incident in the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel during an Emmy after-party in October.

According to an article on mercurynews.com Davis is suing Liberty Mutual because they refused to defend him in an earlier lawsuit related to the after-party.  Davis actually sued “the operator of the hotel’s Tropicana Bar of racial discrimination, assault and battery.”
The allegations are as follows:

The 33-year-old former running back, who is black, says the trouble started when the bar's owner told a friend of his to stop talking with a white waitress.

The waitress then allegedly said something derogatory to Davis, who was later asked to leave the bar by two bouncers.  The athlete claims the bouncers choked him and forced him to the floor.

It is impossible to know what transpired that night unless you were there so commenting on the allegations is pointless.  However, I wonder if Liberty Mutual is legally bound to provide Davis with an attorney?  Anyone have any ideas or insights into this case?
