76 Families In New Hampshire Still Not Able To Return Home After May Flooding
According to insurancejournal.com 76 families in Rockingham County are still unable to return to their homes since this past May’s flooding and could be looking at waiting a few more months.  The cost to bring the families back to their homes is estimated at $3.8 million or $50,000 per family by a Rockingham County relief agency.

The relief agency is helping “process aid applications for flood victims who aren't eligible to receive help from the American Red Cross, Federal Emergency Management Agency or the Small Business Administration.”  Money earmarked for repairs was coming from a fund funded by a WMUR-TV telethon, plus a $5,000 state grant for operating expenses, which totaled around $200,000 but has since run out.

Gov. John Lynch asked New Hampshire’s congressional delegation if any federal appropriations are possible.  However, with no other means the relief agency is solely relying on private donations that have churned to a sputter possibly due to “donor burnout” because of so many disasters of late.
