West Virginia BrickStreet Insurance Sends Out Final Payment Notices To Employers
Brickstreet Insurance of Charleston, West Virginia sent out final notices of cancellation to policyholders who haven’t made a premium payment for the second half of 2006 on their workers compensation coverage according to a press release on the BrickStreet website.

There were more than 12,500 notices sent out to “policyholders who failed to meet the 5 p.m. July 13 deadline for premium payments for the policy period from July 1, 2006 to January 1, 2007.”  The problem for policyholders who do not send payment is they will be “relegated to the Office of the Insurance Commissioner’s  (OIC) Uninsured Fund.”

Being placed in the OIC Uninsured Fund exposes the employer to “fines up to $10,000, revocation of licenses and permits and the closing of the business entirely.  In addition, owners and officers of those companies become personally liable for all workers’  compensation claims, including attorney’s fees, made on behalf of their employees.”

If you are a BrickStreet policyholder you can call 1-877-202-8745 or visit BrickStreet.com to pay your premiums.
