As I’m sure you are well aware the cost of a private and public college education is steady rising at 5 to 7 percent annually. Tuition for one year at a private college is now exceeding $40,000 and public colleges are over $10,000 a year.
The scholarships are renewable up to three years or until earning a degree, whichever happens first. The minimum GPA is 2.5 in order to be able to renew the scholarship. The following criteria was used to award the scholarships:
- Consideration of past academic performance and future potential;
- Leadership and participation in school and community activities;
- Work experience;
- Career and educational aspirations and goals;
- Unusual personal or family circumstances; and
- An appraisal from a non-family member.
