Sentry Insurance Reports Customer Data Stolen
Sentry Insurance, a Wisconsin based insurer, reported that personal information of 72 worker’s compensation claimants was stolen and sold over the Internet according to Yahoo news.  Sentry said, “the data sold included names and Social Security numbers but not medial records.”

If it were between having my medical records or social security number stolen I would prefer the medical records.  An additional 112,198 claimants information was also stolen but there is no evidence it was sold according to Sentry.

The good thing is the thief was found and arrested outside of Wisconsin.  However, the thief was “’a lead programmer/consultant with a nationally recognized computer contractor’ hired by Sentry.”  That has to be one of the worst situations.  Sentry hires a consultant from an apparent nationally recognized computer contractor and then the guy on their premises steals thousands of people’s personal information.

My guess is Sentry will not be doing business with this company again.  Does any one know how much money people make selling other people’s stolen personal information?

Your company, Sentry Insurance sucks. Who ever made the executive decision to sue Anne Keipper the 81-year-old Brookfield, Wisconsin woman, is scum. I will follow and remember this case. I would never buy insurance from company that is this low. Your probably one of the many insurance companies that screwed their customers in New Orleans, when the hurricanes hit.

Anonymous,

I'm a little confused about your comment. I don't work for Sentry Insurance nor did I post about the sueing of an 81-year-old woman. If you know something in regards to Sentry Insurance and this woman then please let us know. Data was stolen from Sentry and the thief was found. I know nothing more about Sentry.

As far as Sentry being a company that insured people in New Orleans I once again am not aware of their involvement. Do let us know so we can be aware of any misconduct or ongoing litigation. Thanks for the comment.
