This is an especially interesting case because of the fact that Secura is going to lose money during the three-year lease period for the vehicles. How many companies would lose money just to help the environment?
Although the hybrids get 9-10 miles better per gallon than the current company cars the “hybrid car’s total cost is $31,174 for the next three years if gas prices remain stable.” This amount compared to the $30,299 cost for traditional engine cars means they are losing around $800 per car.
Doing some simple math that means Secura will spend over $50,000 just to help the environment and “to be leading contributors to the well-being of the communities we work in” according to senior vice president of claims, Scott Huiras.
Does anyone know of another company that is willing to lose money for the well-being of the community and environment? If you do then please leave a comment so we can all applaud these companies.

It is easy to lose money on a deal and pass the cost on to your customers, just deny another claim, that will cover that 50,000 fast. Plus do you really think 50,000 is that much money to secura insurance. That is like a Happy meal at McDonalds to you.
