Weekly Insurance Scammers Exposed: 10th Installment
A multi-million dollar auto scam ring was busted in New York involving so far 14 people.  Doctors were involved in this scam that took 20 months to bring down.  I am constantly amazed at the amount of people participating in these types of scams.  Not such an easy buck when they are sitting in a jail cell for many years to come.

  • Caretaker Exploitation – The accused was charged in Tulsa County District Court. Ferris is the former administrator of Tulsa's Green Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The state's complaint alleges Ferris illegally took $5,389.39 from the trust funds of eight residents between Nov. 1, 2004, and Jan. 12, 2006.
  • Texas Enforcement Actions - The actions include eight license revocations, three license denials and fines and restitution totaling $48,850.
  • Orange Coast Title Pays $800k - Insurance Commissioner John Garamendi today announced an agreement with Orange Coast Title Company that requires the firm to pay $800,000 and immediately cease giving illegal inducements to generate more business.
  • Insurance Agent Faces Felony Charges - More criminal charges are pending against a former insurance agent who prosecutors say could have stolen more than $300,000 from investors.
  • Auto Insurance Fraud - Insurance Commissioner John Garamendi on Wednesday announced the arrest of a San Jose woman for insurance fraud after she allegedly falsified information while submitting a claim to an insurance company.
