This recommendation has not been received a warm welcome from city council members or their leading law enforcement officer. According to a chairwoman of the advisory board, “The city of Holladay has fast-earned the reputation of being the worst city for handing out traffic citations. We are hearing that people are avoiding our city because of this, and it has also led to contempt for our deputies."
Refuting this allegation are numbers from “area justice courts showing the city’s citation levels are lower than in most municipalities of similar size.”
I did not know in Utah tickets effected people’s insurance premiums so much. I am under the assumption even the first ticket a person receives effects their insurance premium. If you live in Utah please set me straight on this if I am incorrect. In California you at least can attend traffic school every 18 months to wipe a ticket off your record.
If that is the biggest current issue of Holladay Utah’s citizens then they have quite a comfortable city to live in.
