I wrote recently about these fires in a previous post so you might already know the extent of damage done by these three combined wild fires. Over 84,710 acres burnt, hundreds of families affected, 50 homes destroyed, 17 minor injuries and one death.
Garamendi commented, “Wildfires continue to threaten homeowners across the state of California. That is why we must be vigilant and prepared. My office is committed to helping all consumers with their insurance needs, and that includes being available to reach out and assist homeowners who have lost their homes and property due to natural disasters such as fires.”
Unfortunately wild fires are a all too frequent reality in Southern California. Preparedness is the best bet if you are in a region susceptible to wild fires. Make sure and keep your homeowners policy up to date, keep a list of personal property with photos and keep important documents in a safe place.
