$14 million In Grants & Loans Approved For Flooding In New Hampshire
The federal government announced approval for $14 million in grants and loans for New Hampshire residents and businesses hit by flooding in May according to insurancejournal.com

More than 4,600 applications for assistance have been filed with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).  Assistance comes in the form of helping victims “make repairs, pay rent and replace damaged clothing, furniture and other property.”

As an example of assistance George Long of Stratham had his basement flooded which cracked his boiler, furnace and destroyed his freezer.  Long received a call from FEMA five hours after calling was visited by an inspector the next day and not too many days later received a check for $3,500.

Long basked in the glory of incredible government service by saying, “"It was amazing.  It was the most fabulous experience I had with the government and a model of efficiency.  There were no hassles, no bureaucracy.”

My thought is since the horrendous tragedy in dealing with Hurricane Katrina FEMA has got their act together.  At least that is my hope and idealistic outlook upon reading this article.

If you have had good or bad experiences with FEMA in recent months please let us know.
