U.S.A. Insurers Urge High School Kids To Consider IT Profession
Information technology professionals are in demand in North America despite the common belief that those jobs have gone abroad according to an article on nationalunderwriter.com.  The global chief information officer William Pieroni of Aon Corp. Chicago expressed that need at the 2006 ACORD LOMA Systems Forum.

There seems to be a problem among IT professionals within insurance companies regarding the “delivery on their objectives, perhaps due to unrealistic expectations” according to Pieroni.  Considering the current generation of IT professionals is nearing retirement that leaves a giant void to be filled.

The lack of general interest in an IT profession leads current employers to start formulating ways of enticing future workers.  These enticements could consist of a “nurturing environment, cool projects or allowing employees to work from home in order to raise their kids.”
