PERI Virtual Symposium On Influenza Pandemic
Public Entity Risk Institute (PERI) a risk management organization will be conducting an online educational symposium from June 19-23.  This symposium will be addressing the H5N1 avian influenza virus and the needed local government response to influenza pandemics.  This and other symposiums put on by PERI are a public service and available to anyone with internet access.

Ideas papers written by “recognized local, national and international experts, specially commissioned issues, on-line threaded discussions and other features” will make up this virtual symposium.  Those people who signed up for this symposium will receive emails consisting of the commissioned issues and ideas papers.  Links to “federal, state, local and private resources to aid in planning” will also be made available.

Robert McEvoy will be directing the program.  McEvoy “is a former county manager, and is now on the public administration faculty of the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy, University at Albany, and is the Managing Editor of The Journal of County Administration.”

Community leaders are encouraged to enroll in the program.  To enroll in Preparing for a Local Crisis within a Global Pandemic visit the signup page
