New York Life & AIG American General Do Charity Work
It is always great to hear of insurance companies giving back to the community.  Here are a few making a difference in their communities.

A New York Life affiliated foundation will be giving $60,000 to the Coalition for the Homeless, based in New York.  New York Life itself will be contributing $340,000 to the Coalition.

This Coalition uses this grant money to pay for 33 children to attend a 19-day camp program for homeless children.  During the summer the camp hosts a total of 300 homeless children.

AIG American General, Houston, a unit of American International Group Inc. is renewing its sponsorship of the “Saves for children” program with the Houston Astros.

Each time an Astros pitcher earns a save AIG American General will donate $500 to the Astros in Action Foundation.  This foundation will in turn give the money to Children at Risk, Houston, a nonprofit group that lobbies for government efforts to help children.

Do you know of any insurance companies contributing to charities or other worthy causes in your area?  Let us know.
