New Software For Insurers & Reinsurers Introduced At Forum
The 2006 ACORD LOMA Insurance Systems Forum introduced some new and updated software development tools according to nationalunderwriter.comACORD is a “nonprofit association who facilitates the development and use of standards for the insurance, reinsurance and related financial services industries.”  LOMA is an “international association with over 1,200 insurance and financial services companies who engage in research and educational activities to improve company operations.”

Software released included the “template –based product Prima IBCS 4.3 for insurers and reinsurers to develop their own insurance business applications.”  The price for this software begins at $125,000.
 

Another product, the Insurance Industry Framework, helps insurers re-use existing processes and rules and can be used t o develop systems for acquiring and retaining business, claims management, and product management.”  Pricing for that product is from $500 to $3,000 per user license.”
