New Orleans Rooftops Still Not Fixed 9 Mo. Later
If you happen on flying over New Orleans anytime soon you will notice blue tarps covering many rooftops nine months after Hurricane Katrina.  This fact is especially disturbing considering the hurricane season began June 1.  The blue tarps were given out by FEMA to many homeowners as a temporary solution according to insurancejournal.com.  This temporary solution is extending far too long for citizens of New Orleans.

The delay in fixing such a large amount of rooftops has to do with many different reasons and varies from person to person.  Some people have dealt with “insurance disputes and other bureaucratic delays while the shortage of roofers” is affecting many homeowners as well.

This situation would seem to me like a great opportunity for enterprising roofers who want to make a lot of money in a short period of time.  The demand is high in New Orleans and much needed for the new hurricane season.
