Insurance Claims Professionals Tour New Orleans Destruction From Hurricane Katrina
Insurance claims professionals filling up three buses toured the destruction left by Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans this week according to nationalunderwriter.com. Thomas Brown a resident of Gretna La. and victim of Katrina is putting on the tour.

Brown is the president of E-claim.com “a virtual Internet claims service system for insurers that matches them with adjusters and coordinates the work based on location and other factors.”  The tour is for attendees of the ACE claims conference being held in La.  The reason behind this tour is “to show the extent of Louisiana’s natural disaster coupled with a manmade disaster…the flooding [from poorly built levees] shouldn’t have happened,” Brown said.

Brown believes more people needed to understand the full impact and size of the damage that destroyed an area seven times the size of Manhattan.  Brown said, “I think this tour will help…and New Orleans will ultimately, I think, be rebuilt better and smarter.”

I hope Mr. Brown is correct in his statements and that his tour improves the chances for New Orleans to come back stronger and safer.
