Indiana Economic Development Corp. Establishes Fund For Insurance Industry Growth
A new $2 million fund was established by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation this past week in order to help facilitate growth within the insurance industry as reported on insurancejournal.com.  This fund will help “defray company costs associated with numerous training and certification programs.”

The money will be distributed through the Indiana Specific Insurance Related Education (INSPIRE) program by “matching 50 percent of an employer's training costs, up to $750 per employee per application.”  This new program was encouraged by input from different insurance industry experts and executives and “will be the most comprehensive state-funded training program in the country.”

The statistics for insurance employment and revenue within Indiana break down as follows, “60,000 people employed at an average salary of $47,500, $180 million a year paid in premium and other taxes with contributions over $3.8 billion to Indiana’s Gross State Product.”

The state of Indiana, like most states with insurance companies, has billions of reasons to offer as many incentives for insurance companies as possible.
