Hurricane Training Ordered By Conn. Governor Rell
Hurricane season is again upon us and many states are taking all possible preventative measures.  I wrote a previous post about preparedness plans in Florida and now Connecticut has joined the battle against Mother Nature. This article is from the insurancejournal.com.   You can also read the press release on ct.gov.

Connecticut Gov. M. Jodi Rell has directed state agencies to organize training sessions and exercises to prepare for the possibility of a hurricane.

An emergency management symposium, co-sponsored with the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities, scheduled this week was intended to provide local and state officials with workshops on emergency planning.

A statewide hurricane exercise is planned for June 28 with state response agencies and municipalities and is to focus on recovery plans following a Category 4 hurricane in southern New England.

"Citizens, business owners and emergency officials need to know that the threat is real and that any size hurricane in the Northeast could have devastating effects on Connecticut,'' Rell said in a statement.

I for one am ecstatic that states are taking precautionary steps for potential Hurricanes.  Hopefully these steps will prove helpful in preventing unnecessary injuries or worse.

If you are a resident of a hurricane state please let us know what types of precautions you are taking for the current storm season.
