The Santa Rosa district office for the California State Compensation Insurance Fund has raised around $50,000 during the past decade for different charities according to insurancejournal.com.  The donations from the State Fund “helped the Volunteer Center of Sonoma County bring in a record $1.1 million for over 500 nonprofit organizations in Sonoma County.”

Some of the charities receiving the donations include “Sutter VNA/Hospice, Canine Companions, the American Cancer Society, Habitat for Humanity, the Humane Society, Wine Country Greyhound Adoption and Women's Recovery Services.”

Apart from these charities, last year the employees raised $5,300 for the Hurricane Katrina relief effort and help keep local blood banks well stocked by donating more than 500 units of blood to the Blood Bank of the Redwoods since 2001.
