 There are no numbers on how much uninsured drivers are costing South Carolina but there are preventative measures one can take. Purchasing uninsured motorist coverage for an average of $21 a year is one way. However, according to a spokeswoman from the state Motor Vehicles Department, “If you are hit by an uninsured motorist it will be even worse because your premiums will go up for something you didn't do. Insurance companies try to recoup their losses from the uninsured drivers.” |
