5 Percent Of South Carolina Drivers Have Suspended Licenses
The insurancejournal.com reported 5 percent of drivers in South Carolina have suspended or revoked licenses.  The amount of drivers with suspended licenses come to more than 156,000 creating a problem for the rest of the licensed drivers.  Drivers with suspended licenses also tend to be uninsured causing financial strain because of the accidents they cause.

There are no numbers on how much uninsured drivers are costing South Carolina but there are preventative measures one can take.  Purchasing uninsured motorist coverage for an average of $21 a year is one way.

However, according to a spokeswoman from the state Motor Vehicles Department, “If you are hit by an uninsured motorist it will be even worse because your premiums will go up for something you didn't do.  Insurance companies try to recoup their losses from the uninsured drivers.”
