Life Insurance Comes In All Shapes
I want to continue on the topic of life insurance with a discussion of the different types of life policies on the market currently.  I also want to stress the importance of knowing the difference as a consumer between these very different but similar policies.  You might have read or heard form others that one type of life insurance is better or worse than another.  That is a very dangerous perspective to have and is just not true.  Each type of life insurance policy serves its own purpose and has advantages and disadvantages.

The most important factor in determining the right life insurance is your personal situation.  Are you single, married, have children, take care of a family member, do you have debt and how much, what is your income etc?  Those are just a few of the potential scenarios you could be facing.

All life insurance falls into one of two categories, temporary and permanent.  Those categories are self-explanatory with temporary insurance only lasting a certain number of years while permanent policies are meant to last from the date you purchase them for the rest of your life.

The next post on this topic I will delve into the differences between the two categories and the different individual policies.
