Forty-eight million people seems like an incredible amount to me. That number represents 18% of drivers in this country. The main culprits seem to be “younger people living in rural areas who drive pick-up trucks.” I know what you are thinking but hold your tongue. We have to be PC about this situation and try and look out for everyone.
This study was released alongside a new campaign you may have heard of called “Click It or Ticket” to help “enforce seat-belt laws.” You can find more information about the campaign on buckleupamerica.org. This campaign begins May 22 and runs through June 4. “More than $31 million in national and state ads” will target “18 to 34 year old males”. Obviously this is a serious matter as more than “31,000 people per year are killed in automobile accidents.”
Hopefully $31 million of advertising can make a dent in the 48 million people still not buckling up.
You are not one of them are you?
