What Is The Purpose Of Life Insurance?
There is no definitive answer to what is the purpose of life insurance.  There are many purposes a life insurance policy serves.  Life insurance provides a sum of money to the designated beneficiary or beneficiaries when the insured dies.  That is a simple definition for life insurance but opens a Pandora’s box to the purpose.

Maybe a single parent wants to make sure their child will have money to pay for their education if that parent were to die unexpectedly.

Perhaps a couple has accumulated a large amount of debt and wants to make sure all those debts will be paid if one of them were to die too soon.

A wealthy couple might want life insurance to pay estate taxes when the last spouse dies.

Life insurance serves many purposes for different families.  You will have your own reasons for owning a life policy.  The bottom line is that you understand why you need a life policy so as not to waste money towards premiums or purchase the wrong type of life policy.

I will be writing more about life insurance in future posts.
