How To Locate Your State Insurance Website
All 50 states in this country have their own separate insurance department in order to make life so much easier for consumers.  In some respects a national centralized insurance department could be a bureaucratic headache for everyone.  Regardless each state has authority over their insurance agents and insurance companies.

In Kansas City, MO there exists a very old organization called the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) established in 1871.  As stated on their website, www.naic.org, "the NAIC is the organization of insurance regulators from the 50 states, the District of Columbia and the five U.S. territories."

On the front page of their website, top left column is a link "NAIC States & Jurisdictions".  Once you click the link you will be directed to a map and listing of all state insurance websites.  Not only will you get a geography lesson but the information you are seeking.

This is a great resource for locating your state insurance website and finding answers to specific questions.  Check it out.
